Since you want to install the script for one hotel through a GTM account linked to several hotels you’ll need to give specific instructions through GTM. These instructions will allow the script to be fired ONLY when the user is navigating the website and booking engine of that one hotel.
To do this you’ll need to follow the steps below or watch this short video.
- Log into your GTM Account
- Click on the hyperlinked container name of the account
- Click on ‘Tags’
- Under the Tag Configuration settings click on the box labelled 'Triggering'
- Select the + symbol on the right hand side of the screen
- Label the trigger
- Click on the ‘Trigger Configuration’ box
- Select ‘Page View’
- Select the option ‘Some Page Views’ under the “This trigger fires on” text
- Click on the dropdown menu and select the ‘Page Path’ option
- Insert the unique element of that hotel’s URL
- Save & Publish the changes
The script will now fire on all the pages of the hotel’s website where GTM is installed.
💡Example: If the hotel chain only differentiates which page the hotel is located in through the URL. Add Page Paths to make sure that the script only fires when the specific location and hotel name are present in the URL.
